2025-2026 EJEPL Youth Playoff Recap

What an exciting weekend of Youth Division playoff hockey!

Thank you to all the teams and venues that helped make this EJEPL season another great success.

Below is a recap of the teams that claimed championships and won the #battleforthebanner across the 10U–14U Diamond and Futures Divisions.

10U Diamond

Top-seeded Wonderland Wizards advanced to the finals with a semifinal win over Aviator Hockey Club. In the other semifinal, Capitals Academy defeated second-seeded Genesis Hockey Club behind a hat trick from #87 Paxton Polidor to secure their spot in the championship game.

In the bronze matchup, Genesis rebounded with a 7–1 victory over Aviator, led by two goals each from #57 Jackson States and #97 Matthew Ruina.

The championship game between Capitals Academy and the Wonderland Wizards was a tightly contested battle. After two scoreless periods, the action erupted in the third. The Capitals struck first, the Wizards answered with two goals to climb back into the game, and the teams traded chances down the stretch. Ultimately, Capitals Academy secured a 4–3 victory. Paxton Polidor continued his hot streak, scoring twice to help defeat the top seed and claim the division championship.

10U Futures Gold 1

Union Thunder defeated Princeton Youth Hockey 3–1 in the quarterfinals, while Long Beach Lightning advanced with an 8–1 win over Quakers Hockey Club. The Lightning were powered by a hat trick from #25 Dylan Llewellyn and two goals from #10 John Schultz.

In the semifinals, Union Thunder upset top-seeded Long Island Kings – Wittekind 6–4 behind two goals from #10 Logan Mali. On the other side, Long Beach Lightning edged Peconic Wildcats 8–7 in a high-scoring thriller. Griffin Fox (#12) scored twice for the Lightning, while Peconic’s #27 Nicholas Deangelis and #90 Warner De Vera each recorded hat tricks.

The bronze game saw Long Island Kings – Wittekind defeat Peconic Wildcats 8–5, pulling away in the third period. #10 Christopher Berghorn led the Kings with two goals.

In the championship, Union Thunder capped off their impressive playoff run with a 3–0 shutout victory over Long Beach Lightning. #16 Everett Hilly scored twice, and #36 Lochlan McKee added a goal and an assist to seal the title.

10U Futures Gold 2

Top-seeded Central Penn Panthers dominated their semifinal matchup, shutting out Exton Kings 8–0. #13 Julian Greco scored four goals, while #88 Nolan Stack and #18 William Rhinier added two each.

In the other semifinal, New Jersey Titans – Alessi defeated second-seeded New York Stars in a tight contest. #77 Vincent Parlavechio scored twice for the Titans, while #99 Logan Parilla netted two for the Stars.

The bronze game was a back-and-forth 9–8 win for the New York Stars over Exton Kings. Logan Parilla continued his scoring streak with four goals. The Kings were led by hat tricks from #29 Rhys Meilahn and #27 Michael Mulhern, along with two goals from #23 Bryce Menasion.

In the championship, Central Penn Panthers defeated New Jersey Titans – Alessi in a defensive battle. #18 William Rhinier scored the game’s first goal, which proved to be the winner, as the Panthers shut out the Titans to claim the title.

10U Futures Silver 1

In a closely contested Quarterfinal matchup between the #4 and #5 seeds, the New Jersey Colonials - Kozie topped the Long Island Edge 3-2. This game was a nailbiter from start to finish and set the tone for a close and competitive playoff weekend for the 10U Silver 1 division.

Both semifinals required overtime. Nassau County Lions defeated New Jersey Colonials – Kozie after #28 Jackson Bebry recorded a hat trick, including the overtime winner.

In the other semifinal, Potomac Patriots upset second-seeded Long Island Sharks when #34 Sam Johnson scored the overtime game-winner.

New Jersey Colonials – Kozie claimed the bronze with a 7–3 win over Long Island Sharks, led by two goals from #10 Andrew Sullivan.

In the championship, Nassau County Lions edged Potomac Patriots 4–3. #10 Dominic Green scored twice, including the game-winner, to secure the championship.

10U Futures Silver 2

Top-seeded Howard Huskies – Woodward defeated Genesis Hockey Club 5–1 in the semifinals, with two goals from #10 James Wojcieszek.

In the other semifinal, New Rochelle Lightning edged New Jersey Colonials – Carey 3–2 behind two goals, including the game-winner, from #29 Nolan Larsen.

The Colonials – Carey earned bronze with a 7–2 win over Genesis Hockey Club, powered by two goals each from #86 Grant Laverty and #20 Luke Coda.

In the final, Howard Huskies – Woodward defeated the New Rochelle Lightning 4–3. #91 Ryder Woodward scored twice as the Huskies captured the championship.

12U Diamond

Campus Wild advanced to the finals with a 3–2 semifinal win over Union Thunder. Ridgefield Lions defeated Wonderland Wizards 6–1, led by two goals from #63 Ben Diamond.

Wonderland Wizards claimed bronze with a win over Union Thunder, highlighted by two goals from #17 Vasilios Papanikolaou.

In the championship, Ridgefield Lions defeated Campus Wild 5–4. #43 Dylan Trimarchi scored twice and #17 Hunter Hulme recorded a hat trick to secure the title.

12U Futures Gold 1

Both semifinals were a tight match up, each decided by a single goal. Top-seeded Metro Militia defeated the Jersey Wolves 3–2, while Long Beach Lightning beat the second-seeded Cranford Youth Hockey 3–2 in overtime. For the bronze, Cranford Youth Hockey defeated the Jersey Wolves 5–3, with #29 Ryan Clarke contributing two goals for the team. In the finals, Metro Militia faced the Long Beach Lightning, where the Lightning dominated the top-seeded team in a 5–1 victory to claim the division championship.

12U Futures Gold 2

The quarterfinal round featured several exciting matchups:

Long Island Kings shut out Nassau County Lions – Basiley.

Hershey Jr. Bears defeated Long Island Edge behind a hat trick from #7 Heith Gaylor.

Peconic Wildcats upset Snider Hockey 6–3.

North Park Youth Hockey completed a 6–5 comeback over Aviator Hockey Club.

In the semifinals, Long Island Kings defeated Peconic Wildcats 6–2, with two goals each from #25 Weston Geremia and #94 Jason Farrell. North Park Youth Hockey edged Hershey Jr. Bears 4–3 to advance.

The championship game between the Long Island Kings and North Park went to overtime tied 3–3. #88 Ryan Ohliger scored twice for the Kings, while #16 Avery Blumetti had two for North Park. In overtime, #94 Jason Farrell netted the game-winner to clinch the championship for Long Island Kings.

12U Futures Silver 1

In the quarterfinals, the Long Island Sharks scored first against the Montclair Blues, but the Blues responded with three unanswered goals—including two from #15 Eli Coppola—earning a 3–1 victory to advance to the semifinals. In the other quarterfinal, Delco Phantoms–Sheehan faced the Long Island Edge in a close battle, with the Edge getting the 6–5 overtime win, highlighted by two goals from #95 Asher Zarin.

Moving on to the semis; the Long Island Edge faced top seeded Howard Huskies - Chapin where they were outscored 8-1, with two goals a piece by #54 Colt Jenkins & #13 Vincent Dorsey; and the Montclair Blues faced the New Jersey Colonials where they fell 3-1 with two goals and one assist by Colonials player #44 Patrick Bryan & two assists by #98 Connor Husarenko.

For the bronze, the Long Island Edge, with help from #18 Leo Bertorelli with two goals, beat the Montclair Blues in a 4-2 win.

The championship featured the division’s top two seeds: Howard Huskies–Chapin vs. the New Jersey Colonials. Each team scored one a piece in the first and second periods, so it came down to the third, where the Colonials scored two goals that went unanswered to become the champions in a 3-1 victory, with two of those goals scored by #98 Connor Husarenko.

12U Futures Silver 2

In the semifinals, top-seeded New Jersey Titans – Bird dominated the Prestige Stars with a 9–1 victory. #12 Matvei Malshakov recorded a hat-trick, #27 Jacob Spektor added a goal and an assist, and #68 Matteo Ursino recorded two goals and an assist.

In the other semifinal, Genesis Hockey Club - Malik fell to Campus matchup between the Prestige Stars and Genesis Hockey Club went to overtime, where #67 Maximus Bruno scored the game-winning goal for Genesis.

Genesis Hockey Club - Malik faced off against Prestige Stars for the bronze, where the close game went to overtime, with Genesis getting it done for the 2-1 win.

In the finals, the New Jersey Titans - Bird faced Campus Wild and delivered another high-scoring performance, defeating them 9–1. #68 continued his scoring streak with another two goals, while #43 Nico Berardi also added two, helping secure the championship.

13U Diamond

In a semifinal match up for the ages, The Long Beach Lightning outlasted the Nassau County Lions in overtime. The game was a back and forth contest that saw Long Beach tie it up in the last 5 m minutes of regulation and eventually win in overtime.

Genesis Hockey Club defeated Long Beach Lightning in a best-of-three series for the Championship. Genesis opened with a 10–0 shutout, highlighted by five goals from #10 Jackson Horton and two from #13 Luke Reese. They completed the sweep with a 7–2 victory in Game 2, with #71 David Kemmerer and #5 Robert Munoz each scored twice to secure the victory.

14U Diamond

Cranford Hockey Club upset top-seeded Wonderland Wizards in the semifinals with a 6–0 shutout. #36 Luca Tsepouridis scored the first two goals to set the tone for the contest. .

Nassau County Lions defeated Howard Huskies 7–3 despite a hat trick from #8 Jack Cavanaugh. The Lions were led by hat tricks from #4 Tristan Arzuza and two goals from #93 Tommy Alcusky.

The championship game between Cranford Hockey Club and Nassau County Lions was tied after regulation. In a highly contested overtime, Luca Tsepouridis scored the game-winner to secure the division championship for Cranford.

14U Futures Gold 1

The quarterfinal round featured two exciting matchups: The Delco Phantoms beat the Exton Kings in a 3-1 win; The Long Beach Lightning beat the Central Penn Panthers in a 2-1 win, with both goals scored by #12 Hudson Brenke. Both winners moved on to the semis to face the division’s top seeds, the Ridgefield Lions and Snider Hockey.

Both semifinals were close games requiring overtime to determine the winners. The first semifinal was a tight battle between the Ridgefield Lions and Long Beach Lightning. The teams were tied 3–3 at the end of the third period, where #56 Frankie Smart scored two goals for the Lightning. In overtime, #36 John Kelly scored his second goal of the game to send the Lions to the finals.

In the other semifinal, Snider Hockey faced Delco Phantoms. The game was tied 1–1 at the end of regulation before #28 Nicolas Johnston scored the overtime winner to advance Snider Hockey to the finals.

 In the championship, Snider Hockey upset the top-seeded Ridgefield Lions with a 5–1 victory, where #10 James Ruppert scored two goals to secure the victory for Snider.

14U Futures Gold 2

In the first quarterfinal, Triad Storm defeated Aviator Hockey Club 3–2, where #9 Brendan Brinkworth Jr. scored two goals. The next quarterfinal was another close game, as Union Thunder beat Metro Militia 5-4, with #21 James Dwan netting two goals for the Thunder.

In the semifinals, the winners faced the division’s top seeds. Union Thunder continued their playoff run by upsetting top-seeded Easton Icehawks 3–1, highlighted by two goals from #7 William Benson. Meanwhile, Genesis Hockey Club defeated Triad Storm 4–2 to advance to the finals.

The championship featured Union Thunder vs. Genesis Hockey Club, where Union Thunder pulled off their final upset with a 3–1 victory, securing the division championship.

14U Futures Silver 1

The quarterfinal round featured several exciting matchups:

Top seed Baltimore Stars beat Union Thunder – Remo in a 6-2 win with two goals scored by #12 Grayson Dey.

Second-seed Long Island Sharks – Tory beat Campus Wild in a 4-1 win with two goals by #13 Matthew Reda.

The three seed, Peconic Wildcats – Ierna, were upset in a shutout 7-0 win by the Long Island Edge, with two goals scored by #26 Michael Marco and contributions by six other players.

Genesis Hockey Club – Baker fell in a close game to the Howard Huskies – Donnelly who won by 2-1.

The two semi-final matchups were set: First with Howard Huskies – Donnelly against Long Island Sharks – Tory where the Huskies netted a shutout to move on to the finals. In the second semifinal the Baltimore Stars faced off against Long Island Edge, where there was another shutout, this time by the Stars in a narrow 1-0 win. The Championship round was now officially set.

On to the finals, with Howard Huskies vs. Baltimore Stars, where the Huskies netted another shutout in a 2-0 victory to become the division champions only giving up one goal against in their three playoff games.

14U Futures Silver 2

Top-seed Loudoun Knights and second-seed Delco Phantoms - Ancone watched the quarterfinals to see who they would face in the semis. In the quarters, the Long Island Enforcers beat the Wilmington Nighthawks in a 5-1 win, while the Hershey Jr Bears beat Metro Militia by the same score, with four of their goals scored by #20 Branson Weiler.

In the semifinals, Loudoun Knights faced Hershey Jr. Bears. The game was tied 3–3 at the end of regulation, with #45 Giovanni Watkins scoring two goals for the Knights. Hershey Jr. Bears pulled off the upset in overtime as #20 Branson Weiler completed a hat-trick with the game-winning goal.

In the other semifinal, Delco Phantoms–Ancone played Long Island Enforcers in a tight matchup, with the Enforcers were victorious in a 3–2 win, including two goals from #20 Nicholas Tizzano.

The finals featured Hershey Jr. Bears against Long Island Enforcers. The Enforcers won a close 4-2 contest to secure the championship victory.
