EASTERN JUNIOR ELITE PROSPECTS LEAGUE

This email is intended for all NY organizations:

Based on the current NY State mandates regarding travel, multiple testing, and quarantining upon return to NY from out of state for more than 24 hours, the EJEPL feels it is irresponsible to ask NY teams to travel to PA and points south to play hockey games. Upon return from a more than 24 hour trip players would have to miss at least three days of school as well as parents missing work for at least three days.

Due to these circumstances, we will not be inviting any NY teams to attend the Dec 4-6 showcase. In addition, we will be waiting for a potential ease of restrictions or NY opening for in state play before reworking NY team’s schedule grids. Once one of the previously mentioned events occurs, all NY teams will receive updated grids to schedule and complete their season.

The EJEPL is also exploring the possibility of extending the season and delaying the playoffs to a later date on the calendar. An announcement regarding this will be coming in the near future.

If you have any questions, please contact the league office.

EASTERN JUNIOR ELITE PROSPECTS LEAGUE

USPHL ELITE DIVISION

Dear GMs, Coaches, and Managers,

I hope all is well in these difficult times.

December 4 - 6 Information

We are preparing for the December 4 - 6 EJEPL USPHL Youth Elite Division Showcase. As of today, November 19, teams cannot leave NJ and teams from other states cannot enter into and play in NJ. CT teams are in the same position. PA teams can travel, but only to MD and VA subject to quarantining when returning to PA. NY teams can only play in PA subject to the governor's testing mandates in both entering PA and returning to NY.

As of today, the NJ organizations; Philadelphia Hockey Club, Rockets Hockey Club, NJ Hitmen, and Woodbridge Wolfpack will play in the 9U - 14U levels at Hollydell Ice Arena. Additional Tier I AAA teams from NJ are being asked to participate also.

NY teams; CP Dynamo, PAL Islanders will join Palmyra and guest teams in PA for the showcase at venues to be sorted out.

Unfortunately, the CT Rangers are out for this particular event due to CT state guidelines.

We anticipate a full 4-5 game showcase in NJ and PA following the current mandates.

The EJEPL follows all state, local, and affiliate mandates as stated on the governor's and affiliate official websites. There will be no deviation from the stated executive orders and affiliate mandates.

We will send out preliminary showcase information next week including a draft schedule and hotel information. Logistics and venue guidelines will also be sent at that time.

Schedule Grid Updates

We will also be updating the 9U - 14U EJEPL USPHL Elite Division schedule grids to reflect the current playing situation. I will have discussions with the USPHL Executive Committee on moving the playoffs later on the calendar and reducing the amount of league games to logically accommodate the current situation.

Please review your roster and schedule on the EJEPL website to make sure it is accurate. Also, please let us know of any changes or corrections to the Directory which is linked below.

The Carolina Jr. Hurricanes have withdrawn from the youth division due to the travel restrictions imposed in their state and in NJ. If you have any games scheduled with the Hurricanes please note that they are canceled.

Important Note

Any EJEPL USPHL game played against any state, local, or affiliate mandate/guidelines is not sanctioned by USAH and will be rejected as a game for the EJEPL USPHL Standings. We do not condone any illegal games being played. As per the EJEPL sanctioning guidelines in the affiliate we are registered in, the Affiliate President must be notified in the affiliate that the illegal game was played in. The best way to stay out of a difficult situation is to follow the rules. If you have any questions regarding the legality of the games you will be playing, please contact the Affiliate President in your state as well as the state where the game will be played.

All the best,

Henry Lazar

EJEPL Commissioner
